Putting in some work!

It's not worth the risk. Please be safe and make good decisions.
⚠️ TURN AROUND. DON’T DROWN. ⚠️
Floodwaters are one of the most dangerous weather hazards we face in South Carolina - and they can become deadly in seconds.
Just 6 inches of fast-moving water can knock a person down, and only 12 inches can carry away most vehicles. Nearly half of all flood-related deaths occur in vehicles because drivers attempt to cross flooded roads.
If you encounter standing water on a roadway:
🚫 DO NOT drive through it
🚫 DO NOT go around barricades
🚫 DO NOT risk your life to save a few minutes
Turn around and find another route. No destination is worth your life.
Abbeville County Fire-Rescue urges everyone to stay weather aware, use caution during heavy rain events, and remember:
WHEN FLOODED, FORGET IT.

SHARON - We try to keep things professional around here… but sometimes the youngest members of the community step in as our unofficial “Health & Safety Officers.”
Case in point: This is Cas Cooper and his dad is Hunter Cooper - a member of Sharon Fire Rescue (Station #1)
This little guy has made it VERY clear that Dad’s fire gear from that house fire needs immediate attention. No debate. No delay. Straight to the gear washer.
And honestly… he’s not wrong.
After every fire, our gear carries more than just smoke—it can hold harmful contaminants that we don’t want lingering around our firefighters, the station, or their families. That’s why proper decontamination isn’t optional… it’s part of doing the job right.
So today’s lesson, courtesy of our smallest inspector: If it smells bad enough to make a kid react like this… it DEFINITELY needs to be cleaned!
Great job, Cas! 😉

Weekday calls are tough for volunteers but this morning was a big team effort! We had some members who had to work but showed up and worked hard until they had to leave to get to their job. Everyone worked together to get the job done!
