*WHO ARE THE BABINGA BAGHALITSA?*

The Babinga Baghalitsa is a closely-knit group of individuals who proudly trace their lineage back to a common ancestor known as Kameli Musubaho Masereka. Our ancestral roots are found in Bughalitsa village, nestled within the beautiful Bughalitsa village of Kasese District with origin from Isale in the DR Congo.

As members of the Babinga clan, which is a part of the larger Bayiira community residing on the foothills of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, we hold dear our rich cultural heritage and traditions. These customs serve as a cornerstone of our way of life, guiding our daily activities and interactions with one another.

Our primary focus centres around the conservation and preservation of our distinct culture, ensuring that it thrives for generations to come. Through the practice of age-old traditions and customs, we honour the legacy of our ancestors while also adapting to the changing times.
