Today, on Trans Day of Visibility 2026, we rise under the theme “Trans People Belong Everywhere” a powerful reminder that our existence is not limited, conditional, or negotiable.

At Pride For Youth Initiative (PFYIN), this truth guides our work every day. From advocating for access to HIV prevention and care, to protecting the rights of trans and gender-diverse people, to building safer spaces for young LGBTIQ+ persons we are committed to ensuring that trans people are not just visible, but fully included, protected, and empowered.

In contexts like ours, where visibility can come with risk, choosing to be seen is an act of courage. It is resistance. It is survival. And it is leadership.

We celebrate the trans individuals who continue to show up in our communities, in our movements, and in our everyday lives despite the barriers. Your existence challenges injustice and inspires change.

But today is also a call to action:
Visibility must come with safety.
Inclusion must come with justice.
And belonging must be backed by systems that protect and affirm our lives.

At PFYIN, we will continue to stand at the frontlines amplifying trans voices, resisting anti-gender movements, and building intersectional solidarity that leaves no one behind.

We belong everywhere. And we will continue to claim every space that is ours.

Our heart is heavy beyond words. Yesterday, we lost not just a dear friend and mentor, but a fearless activist whose courage lit the path for so many of us. Joan dedicated her life to justice, to amplifying the voices of those unheard, and to building a world where dignity and equality are not dreams but realities.

Your passion, your laughter, your guidance, and your unwavering belief in humanity will forever stay with us. You taught us that activism is love in action, and you lived that truth every single day.

It’s hard to imagine this movement without you, but your spirit will continue to fuel our fight. You may be gone too soon, but your legacy lives on in every heart you inspired, every life you touched, and every step we take toward freedom.

Rest in power, our dear friend. You changed this world, and we will keep your fire burning. 🕊️💔
