Those words were created to describe people who destroy others Live either physically or spiritually. Such kind of people are considered to "live" backwards, hence "evil" because they distroy the life someone has built.

"Stop being Evil" and the past tense is Devil.
"EVIL" is "LIVE" backwards
"DEVIL" is "LIVED" backwards
"IGNORANCE" is to "IGNORE" your inner voice(Spirit) that is meant to guide and lead you.
