: Transition is a 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔 of disorientation and reorientation that marks the turning points in the path of growth and self-renewal. We resist transition not because we can't accept the change, but because we can't accept letting go of that piece of ourselves that we have to give up when and because the situation has changed. The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern.

Before people can begin something new, they have to end what used to be and unlearn the old way. The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.

: During just concluded 1st Edition of UPDF-CDF Drills Competitions at Kololo Independence Ground, the CDF, Gen declared, “𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒅𝒂𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑼𝑷𝑫𝑭” fully committed to pursuing excellence in all fields with drills being just one aspect. He urged commanders and unit leaders to rotate drill participants regularly to ensure that the entire force benefits from this amazing culture of excellence.

The CDF, Gen likened military drills to music in the civilian context a universal language understood by allemphasizing that even those without a military background can appreciate them.

The overall competition winner was the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), followed by SFC, with ISO receiving Shs10 million and trophies. Other winners in various drill categories were the Air Force and 4 Infantry Division among others.

The event, now part of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) annual calendar, aims to enhance discipline, teamwork, and professionalism within the forces.

: As the year opens, the CDF, Gen continue applying intellectual understandings of the “War of Art” by unearthing ’s strength deeply rooted in hand of mercy of President being the first inspirations among the 9 Men of Valor.

Good ideas are not adopted automatically, 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. Once implemented they can be easily overturned or subverted through apathy or lack of follow-up, so a continuous effort is required.
