Uganda’s bold 2026 education reforms are set to transform foundational learning, and Right Path is proud to align with these forward-thinking changes!

The nation will reshape Early Childhood Learning, revamp Universal Primary Education (UPE), expand secondary schooling (including seed schools) with World Bank support, and activate a new TVET Council to strengthen vocational training. At Right Path, we’re actively integrating the National Curriculum Development Centre’s (NCDC) groundbreaking updates, designed to prioritize holistic, age-appropriate growth:

Gone are lengthy school days and homework; classes now run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM with structured breaks, focusing all learning within the classroom. The outdated 2005 ECD framework has been replaced with a dynamic, competence-based curriculum featuring seven enriched learning areas (up from five). This modern approach introduces cursive handwriting in nursery to boost brain development and concentration, integrates mathematics (replacing numeracy) with earlier foundational concepts, and teaches English alongside local languages, all while maintaining play-based exploration.

New domains like Spiritual & Moral Development, Physical Health & Nutrition, Environmental Interaction (blending basic science and social studies), and Personal & Social Development ensure children build character, empathy, and practical life skills. Content is meticulously tailored: Baby Class focuses on tracing and cursive for neural growth; Middle Class blends numbers with creativity; and Top Class develops sentence construction to seamlessly transition to primary school.

Every change centers on balance: rigorous yet joyful learning, skill-building that doesn't sacrifice play, and cultural relevance alongside global readiness. As educators, we’re committed to making these reforms a reality, nurturing resilient, well-rounded learners ready for tomorrow.

Let’s champion education that grows with the child.

Proud of the work our team is doing to normalize menstrual health as a cornerstone of dignity and equity in Uganda, and beyond. This isn’t optional. It’s justice.

For generations, menstruation has been cloaked in silence, stigma, and myth, spoken of only in whispers, if at all. This culture of shame left millions of girls and women without the knowledge, resources, or support to manage their periods with dignity. But silence is no longer an option.

In Uganda, the data speaks clearly: 28% of schoolgirls miss class every month due to menstrual-related challenges. For this reason, they lack access to affordable sanitary products. Because their schools lack private, clean, and functional WASH facilities. Because embarrassment and misinformation still outweigh open, supportive dialogue.

The consequences are real: missed lessons, lost confidence, interrupted education, and too often, girls dropping out altogether. This isn’t just a health or gender issue. It’s a barrier to inclusive education, economic participation, and human rights.

At Right Path, we’re moving beyond temporary fixes. Yes, we provide menstrual products, but more importantly, we shift mindsets. Through initiatives like our GirlCare Game, we create brave spaces where girls learn with confidence, and boys become allies who challenge stigma and champion dignity.

Real change happens when everyone steps up:

→ When schools install gender-sensitive sanitation infrastructure.
→ When governments embed menstrual equity into policy and budgets.
→ When development partners invest in locally led, inclusive solutions.
→ When communities break taboos through open, respectful conversation.

Advancing menstrual health isn’t charity, it’s justice. And it’s a responsibility we all share.

Let’s stop managing menstruation in the margins. Let’s bring it into the mainstream—where it belongs.

Anger isn’t the enemy; it’s information.

Helping children manage their anger isn’t about silencing their emotions. It’s about guiding them to understand and express those feelings in constructive ways.

Anger often acts as a signal, pointing to unmet needs like safety, fairness, or connection. Yet too often, children’s outbursts are misread as defiance and met with discipline instead of support.

When adults respond with patience, empathy, and simple questions like, “What’s really bothering you?”, they help children name their emotions and build the vocabulary to express them, not explode them.

This kind of compassionate presence lays the foundation for lifelong resilience and healthy relationships.

By nurturing emotional regulation, we equip children to navigate conflict, practice empathy, and protect their mental well-being. These skills improve classrooms, strengthen families, and create inclusive spaces where every child can learn and grow with dignity.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or community leader, your calm response in a heated moment can turn frustration into a powerful opportunity for growth.
