Uganda: A free, independent press is an integral pillar to a healthy democracy. We depend on members of the press to provide accurate information, draw attention to human rights abuses and combat corruption.

Unfortunately, journalists have often been bullied, harassed and attacked for reporting the truth. This is unacceptable - no member of the press should be threatened, attacked, or detained for doing their job.

On we stand to respect and protect, not just the truth but also the bearer of the truth.

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one!
