Meet "Lenia Mildred": A woman who refused to be defined by disability
Through the support provided under the Gender Equality and Resilience (GEAR) Project, Lenia, a visually impaired mother of six, runs five businesses, trains others, and supports her household through the power of savings, skills, and self-belief.

“ I now share responsibilities with my husband,” says Lenia “We have six children, five boys and one girl. He pays school fees for three, and I pay for the other three and I also support an orphan.”

The GEAR Project is Implemented by CEFORD-Uganda in partnership with International In Uganda with funding from the Development Agency through CARE Austria and empowers marginalized women and youth to live self-reliant, resilient lives in inclusive communities.
