He answered all questions we had and gave us a lot of info regarding animals, nature, African and Masai culture, food, politics and many other topics. 🌾 Thanks to Daniel and his experienced eyes, we saw a lot of animals we could have never spotted by our own. Machame Route 6 days (04.12. – 09.12.)

Day 3: New Shira Camp (3,845m) to Lava Tower (4,640 m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Well-rested our guests today hiked up to Lava Tower and back down to the beautiful Barranco Camp. With a bit of luck, they enjoy spectacular views of Kibo from camp. ⛰️

ℹ️ Today’s focus is acclimatisation: Following the “climb high, sleep low” maxim, our climbers slowly expose their bodies to the higher altitude, increasing their chances for a successful summit. Over the 6-to-7-hour hike, vegetation changes to an alpine desert towards Lava Tower and takes our guests through the Barranco Valles with its lobelia and senecio plants.
