HIMD joined hands with the Local Government Authority for a meaningful tree-planting exercise at our new Olkejulendir site. 🌱

These trees are more than nature—they represent our shared commitment to growth, sustainability, and a brighter future for this community. As we plant roots, we also plant hope, healing, and long-lasting change for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who made this beautiful start possible.

🔊 International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Ge***al Mutilation

Under Tanzania’s 2025 national theme, “Strengthening Alliances and Building Movements to End FGM,” HIMD reaffirms its dedication to protecting girls and women from the harmful practice of FGM.

10% of Tanzanian girls and women face the risks of FGM, often in rural areas where awareness and support are needed most. HIMD is working to empower communities, build partnerships, and advocate for policies that safeguard girls’ rights and futures.

đź’ˇ Join us in this movement. Together, we can end FGM and create a brighter tomorrow.

✨ We are excited to host Marrit from Achmea for a two-week visit centered on staff capacity-building in mediation at HIMD!

Her training focuses on safely reintegrating previously rescued children into their communities, ensuring a healing process that fosters successful futures while maintaining strong connections with their roots. This partnership reinforces HIMD’s dedication to empowering children and communities through sustainable conflict-healing practices.

Thank you, Marrit and ACHMEA, for believing in our shared vision of transformation and brighter futures for all! 💛🌟
