Have you ever lived in a house like the one shown in this picture? π β¨
The houses depicted here are traditional dwellings that were used by the people of the northern regions of Tanzania in past centuries. Known as "Msonge" houses, they were common long before the modern homes we see today. Over time, some other tribes began to adopt different cultures and gradually moved away from living in such houses. However, this beautiful tradition is still preserved and practiced by the Maasai people today. ππ
In summary, these houses are quite stunning, but as with everything, they come with their own set of challenges. π€ If you observe the roof structure, you might wonder: What happens when it rains? π§οΈ What is the temperature like inside during the day? π These are fair questions. The truth is, during the day, especially when the sun is shining, the inside of these houses remains pleasantly cool. Even during the rainy season, the houses stay strong and don't collapse. π§οΈπͺ
I truly commend the Maasai people for preserving this tradition to this day. π
I encourage you to visit Tanzania to learn more about the Maasai tribe and their centuries-old culture. πΉπΏπ«
