StarVR enters staff safety and engineering design applications

Apple Daily Apr. 25, 2018 Wang Yulun / Taipei Report

StarVR Technology (6681) strengthened StarVR's high-end commercial virtual reality application and announced that it will cooperate with TechViz, a French virtual visualization company, to introduce engineering design applications. In addition, it will also cooperate with AKTIO, a leading construction equipment rental company in Japan, and will lead the industry with an ultra-wide FoV of 210 degrees. The 5K high-resolution StarVR HMD got interfaces with over 200 CAD and AEC professional engineering software via TechViz plugins, enabling companies to more effectively design and validate engineering and accelerate product development processes.

StarVR Technology also announced that it will work with Japan's construction equipment rental leader AKTIO to create the “AKTIO VR Staff Safety Training System” to allow construction workers to perform pre-employment safety training through virtual reality technology to protect the safety of construction site workers.

Jerry Gao(Gao, Shuguo), vice chairman of StarVR Technology said: "In addition to continuing to cultivate the location-based entertainment market, StarVR Technology has cooperated with application developers across industries such as construction, automotive, military, aerospace, medical, and retail in business applications. We will build a high-end virtual reality ecosystem. We will continue to collaborate with partners in various fields to enable business users to create higher value and continue to innovate through StarVR's industry-leading virtual reality solutions."

The core of StarVR solution is a top-level virtual reality HMD designed for the enterprise and commercial location-based entertainment market. It is equipped with 5K ultra-high resolution and 210-degree wide viewing angle, providing much better experience than home virtual reality. This HMD has a patented structural design, customized optical components, and dual-panel design, which shows superior high-definition resolution on the market, and has successfully solved the current head-mounted view angle limitations. There is no screen-door effect also creates a more immersive real-life experience.

The StarVR HMD has a 210-degree wide viewing angle, providing a wider experience closer to the true vision of the human eye than a head-mounted display with 110 degrees in general. The user can use the most intuitive way to enter the virtual world through the normal rotation of the eyeball and the afterglow of the corner of the eye without the need to widen the line of sight by turning the head.

Hand in hand with the visualization platform to connect more than 200 professional engineering software

Considering the demand for high-end enterprise application market, Hongxing Technology cooperated with TechViz, a French virtual visualization solution provider, to optimize the TechViz VR platform with the unique dual-panel specification of StarVR head-mounted display. Users will be able to use StarVR HMD with TechViz VR two independent signal outputs to view more than 200 models of CAD and AEC professional engineering software at an unprecedentedly wide viewing angle and high resolution. Industrial designers and engineers can more effectively conduct design and engineering verifications, accelerate product development and project planning periods, and assess potential design flaws and risks, effectively saving associated costs and increasing technology content.

Alexis Vartanian, chief technology officer of TechViz, stated: "Constrained by consumer-oriented virtual reality head-mounted display technology, engineering and industrial design users have difficulty in viewing design prototypes with precision and intuition. With wide-view technology that is close to human eyes through StarVR, users It will naturally interact with design prototypes, greatly improving work accuracy and efficiency.”

StarVR high-end commercial virtual reality solutions are suitable for industries that require accurate reproduction of high-resolution models, such as defense military simulation training, engineering and construction, aerospace development design, and automotive manufacturers.

Highly realistic virtual reality pre-service training

Occupational safety training based on face-to-face instruction is difficult for students to experience in practice, and the learning effect is often compromised. In order to strengthen the personal safety of chemical sites, Acer Technology and Japan's AKTIO Corporation have developed the "AKTIO VR Staff Safety Training System." Through a highly realistic StarVR virtual reality experience, construction workers can receive full occupational safety training before their job. The system first designed a virtual reality simulation experience with a high-altitude fall accident with the highest proportion of labor disasters in the construction industry, allowing operators to experience the misfortune that occurred when they did not follow the safety instructions, and strengthened their awareness of the safety regulations.

AKTIO Co., Ltd. president and COO Sakurano Nakano said: “Although the number of casualties in the construction industry has continued to decline in the past few years, we are still committed to strengthening preventive education and training. To avoid the lack of realism and dizziness in traditional VR solutions We have partnered with StarVR Technology and other partners to develop the "AKTIO VR Security Training System" with the StarVR solution and enhance the quality of pre-service education through a highly immersive virtual reality experience."

Deepening Partnership with Entertainment Industry Partners Continuously Expanding Location-Based Entertainment Map

StarVR Virtual Reality Solution is equipped with a high-speed optical tracking system that can accurately track various actions in a wide range of areas and provides location-based entertainment operators with an immersive virtual reality experience. The internationally renowned entertainment industry adopts, including the IMAX VR Experience Center set up in Los Angeles and New York in the United States in early 2017, the StarVR virtual reality experience zone set by SEGA Entertainment in Tokyo SEGA Game Center in Tokyo, and then 3 will be opening in this year.
