Omg heartless people its the season to be kind not evil!

CHRISTMAS SADNESS

With the holidays coming more and more heartless vile humans are dumping their dogs and pups as if they are cleaning out for the new year.

Yesterday while on my way home from doing a home check I saw a dog running along the highway with a chain wrapped around its neck.

She was so scared and hungry as she's literally skin and bones that she stopped to dig in the trash and I was able to lure her to me with a tin of dog food I had in my van. When she came close I grabbed her chain and I'll be taking her to the vet today to get checked out and bloodwork done.

I really wasn't planning to do anymore rescues because my current bill is over $40,000 but I couldn't leave her there, the HUMANITY in me couldn't drive along my merry way knowing that she would starve or be killed on the road.

Have you heard of Distemper?

We for many years in Trinidad did not see one case of it.

Sad to say it's back!

With the influx of guns, drugs and people coming to our shores from the mainland. It has become apparent that there has also been a health influx of animals as well.

With the increase of these spanish speaking dogs there has also been the reappearance of Distemper and a few other diseases we thought were long gone.

The moral of this story is that you keeping on top of your pet's Vaccinations has now come right back up the list of priorities.

Distemper is a virus that attacks the Respiratory and Nervous systems primarily. It is very debilitating and can be fatal.

We vaccinate against Distemper when your pet is a puppy and then once per year as an adult.

If you are looking up in the sky wondering when last your pet was vaccinated. Chances are he or she needs to see a veterinarian.
