Uzbekistan Tourism Workshop Held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Brussels
A tourism workshop dedicated to the growing international potential of Uzbekistan was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Brussels, bringing together tourism professionals, institutional representatives, and aviation stakeholders.
The event was organized by Derya Soysal on behalf of EuReflect. During the workshop, she delivered a presentation highlighting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, with an emphasis on its Silk Road heritage, historic cities, cultural richness, and emerging role as a key destination connecting Europe and Central Asia.
In her speech, Ms. Soysal focused specifically on the newly established Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, describing it as an important milestone of the country’s contemporary development and cultural revival. The discussions underlined the historical and civilizational importance of Islamic heritage in Uzbekistan and its role in shaping national identity, education, and international cultural dialogue in the new era of the country’s development.
Additionally, António Buscardini, a Tourism Ambassador of Uzbekistan, gave a speech highlighting his unique insights and further promoting the country's appeal to international travelers.
Aviation stakeholders also played a key role in the workshop. A special thanks is extended to Amina Kokten from Turkish Airlines, who participated in the event and stressed the importance of connectivity and expanding travel links between Europe and Uzbekistan.
The event provided a constructive platform for dialogue on tourism promotion, cultural diplomacy, and international cooperation, reflecting growing European interest in Uzbekistan’s heritage, cultural institutions, and strategic position along the Silk Road.
