At the end of January, the mobility Regaining Sense of Belonging unfolded through a dynamic sequence of exploration, reflection, and creation within the UP2NEB framework.
The programme included the field trip “Regaining Sense of Belonging – Discovering the Urban Fabric (Urban.walks Ankara – Esat Route)”, where participants analysed how urban spaces shape interaction, accessibility, and community life. This experience fed directly into working sessions inspired by the phases of design thinking. Participants first focused on understanding and empathising with community needs, then clearly defining the core challenges they wanted to address.
The sessions continued with NEB Talks: Designing Participatory Spaces and later NEB Talks: Reclaiming Public Spaces and Neighbourhoods, which connected local observations to broader perspectives on urban transformation. Building on this input, participants moved into ideation and prototyping phases, developing and testing concrete concepts for youth-led community initiatives.
The process concluded with structured pitch preparation, recordings, and final presentations to external youth workers, allowing teams to communicate their proposals and reflect on feedback.
