🎉 Congratulations to Neen Phan-Udom, Master of Engineering student, in the School of Molecular Science and Engineering School (MSE) under supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khamphee Phomphrai on her recent paper titled " Access to Linear Poly(1,2-glycerol-ester)s via Ring-Opening Copolymerization: Acyl Migration and Thermal Properties" published in Macromolecules.
She explored ring-opening copolymerization of protected glycidol with cyclic anhydrides, followed by mild deprotection, as a route to linear poly(1,2-glycerol ester)s - a structure that is challenging to obtain by the polycondensation of glycerol and diacids. This method provides a strategy to synthesize a larger library of well-defined, functional, degradable materials.
