Laem Mae Phim is a lovely beach area east of Rayong City where we have holidayed many times, and last year we lived there for 6 months. As a popular weekend getaway with Thais, the area offers a more "local" feel, and whilst you see other expats who call the area home, it never feels too much. Well, except when a bus load of them get dropped off at the beachfront seafood restaurants. You can't blame them - the seafood is incredible! 🦞 Most of the time, you will find yourself eating surrounded by mostly Thai families, a mix of expats who live there, and some foreigners on holiday. If you visit outside November to February, it will be incredibly quiet, with some restaurants even closing for the low season. It is an area where I would love us to buy some land and build a house in the future. The only downside seems to be schooling options for the little man 👶 Whilst living here, we spent every morning by grabbing a coffee, sitting listening to the waves, or even going for a swim! 🏊‍♂️ #thailand #rayong
