This year feels like the perfect time to begin something new.
And no matter what path we’re on, I truly hope everyone receives something good from it.

For STI Guitars, this year marks the introduction of a new guitar body design—
a reinterpretation of the traditional Dreadnought.
Let’s simply call it the “Modified Dreadnought.”

This redesign is driven purely by function.
Its visual identity is more of a natural byproduct rather than the main intention.

The traditional Dreadnought has often been labeled as outdated or old-fashioned—
yet ironically, many of those same people still own and regularly play one 😂

Why?
Because we can’t deny that the Dreadnought is one of the most versatile guitar shapes ever made.

Whether you’re strumming like a rock player,
playing country-style rhythms,
or fingerpicking like Tommy Emmanuel—
the Dreadnought handles it all.

That’s exactly why creating our own version of it made perfect sense.

This new design focuses on a more modern silhouette,
while preserving everything that makes the Dreadnought so complete.

Because for me:
“It’s not just about body size—it’s about the form.”

Adjusting key areas of the soundboard—
increasing or reducing them with intention—
is where the real design happens,
until it reaches a point of both confidence and satisfaction.

So yes… you’ll probably hear me recommend this shape quite often 😊
And from now on, if anyone asks for a Dreadnought,
I’ll be using this design instead of the traditional one.

After all, a luthier who has never truly had their own handmade identity—
this might finally be the moment 😉
