Great way to teach colors to young kids (2+) -- GREEN DAY!!

What you need: Clothing, food, drinks, toys, paint, etc...

What to do:
Tell your kids in the morning that you are going to have a "Green Day" or whatever colour, just takes your fancy
- Small amount of green food colouring in their milk - green cereal
- A selection of green food to try: honeydew melon, kiwi fruit, avocdo, green apple, snow peas, etc..
- Green cloths for all of you to wear that day
- Green cooking
- Green play dough
- Add some green color on in a bath tub (with Fizzy Tub Color), make water green
- Green activities - Planting and gardening
- Green paint outside

I've tried this and works :) All kids have fun, including me!!

Shopping can be fun learning experience for your kid (4+). Don't let your shopping an ordinary one!

What you need: Paper, Pencil, Super market catalogues/brochure

What to do:
1. Do brainstorming with your kid about what you need for weekly grocery shopping and write those items down, both those stuffs that run out and something your kid likes.

2. Talk about budgets and amount to spend. Kid needs to understand that we plan what we buy and why.

3. Go shopping!! go for the shopping lists, have fun finding those stuffs and let them put in stroller

Shopping together offers many opportunities for writing, counting, comparing, choosing and sorting. All of these are important literacy and numeracy skills :)
