I've worked at Goodwill for nearly 4 years, but this entitled customer was unforgettable.

On Labor Day weekend, we were overwhelmed with donations. While I was helping a customer with Jenny, a young woman (let's call her Karen) shoved her aside, dropped a dirty vacuum at my feet, breaking it, and ignored my warnings. Our rules require customers to wait their turn and not leave donations on the ground.

Frustrated, I threw the vacuum in the trash. Karen returned with more junk and snapped, "Calm down, you wimp! Your stupid rules don't apply to me!"

Our new manager, Samuel, who had just arrived, looked at the scene, kind of shocked. I stayed calm, but people around us witnessed it all.

Karen barged into the employees-only area and threw more trash. Jenny told her:

Jenny: "You can't be here."
Karen (exploding, screaming): "I’m giving you free stuff! Get lost!"

She tried to leave, but two cars blocked her in. Furious, she demanded, "Get your manager! I'm getting you fired!"

I’ve been working for my dad’s construction company since I was 15. Not by choice, but because I had to. "Earn your keep" was his favorite line. I paid actual rent as a teen. He married my mom when I was 10, and from that day on, it felt like I was more of a tenant than family. But I put my head down and worked hard, thinking one day it’d pay off.

When I asked why, he just looked at me and said, "David’s got the degree, and we don’t have room for both of you. It’s time I help him get on his feet."

I didn’t lose it. I just left, trusting that the universe would handle the rest. And, well, let’s just say karma doesn’t miss.

Brody strutted around his restaurant like he owned the world, narrowing his eyes as he inspected the work of his employees.

He looked down on them, these waiters and cooks who had, in his eyes, amounted to nothing.

He never respected them, convinced they were failures. Despite having never worked a day in his life and having inherited the restaurant from his father, Brody felt far superior to those around him.

Brody stepped into the kitchen and saw Cory and Michael talking in hushed tones.

"He definitely won't allow it," Cory said, shaking his head.

"We should at least try," Michael replied.

"What is it that I won't allow?" Brody’s voice cut through the air as he approached them.

Cory turned, startled. "Uh... I need a few days off. My daughter is really sick, and I want to be with her."

Brody stared at him for a moment, his expression cold. "And who's supposed to work while you're off playing nurse?" he snapped.

"I was hoping I could at least leave a bit earlier," Cory said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Brody's eyes narrowed. "If you walk out that door a minute before your shift ends, don't bother coming back. And then, maybe your sick daughter won't have anything to eat," Brody added harshly, turning to leave.

Brody felt powerful in that moment and couldn't even imagine that he would soon lose everything he had and would be begging Cory for help standing on his doorstep.👇
