Glasses are the most common of the optical devices designed to correct human vision with optical imperfections of the eye or to protect the eyes from various harmful influences.

Spectacles consist of lenses, glass or plastic, held by a frame with temples attached to it. Occasionally, instead of the temples that are attached to the ears, a tape or strap is used to cover the head.
