🎥 عن الفيلم :
منذ أزلنا إلى زوالنا، تبقى قصص الثورات والحروب ُمحّيرة، مُربكة، مُقلقة، أسطورية، قاسية، عنيفة، لكنها تظلّ انعكاساً لطبيعتنا البشرية، مهما ابتعدت عنا.
ثوار، أبطال، متطرفون، قتلة، مجرمون ... هي بعضٌ من أحكام لا يمكن تعميم أحدها ولا إسقاطُ الآخر.

في مهبّ الريح، فيلم تأملي، من خلف الكواليس، عن مجموعة من المقاتلين السوريين المدنيين. بين العمليات القتالية، يعيش الرجال معاً، يلعبون الورق، ويتناقشون حول حال البلد ووجودهم الهشّ المشحون بالتّوتر.
🗣️ يعقب العرض نقاش مفتوح مع الجمهور بحضور مخرج الفيلم.

🎬 Dar Cinema invites you to join the screening of the third film in Iyad Al-Jaroud’s trilogy “Nothing Remains for Us but the Story: The Book of Ecstasy, Nobility, and Wind.”

Featuring the film: Gone with the Wind (2024)

🎥 About the film:

From our very beginnings to our eventual end, the stories of revolutions and wars remain bewildering, unsettling, disturbing, mythical, harsh, and violent — yet they continue to reflect our human nature, no matter how distant they may seem from us.

Revolutionaries, heroes, extremists, killers, criminals… these are some of the judgments that can neither be universally applied nor entirely dismissed.

Gone with the Wind is a contemplative behind-the-scenes film about a group of Syrian civilian fighters. Between military operations, the men live together, play cards, and discuss the state of the country and their own fragile, tension-filled existence.

🗣️ The screening will be followed by an open discussion with the audience in the presence of the film’s director.

These screenings are organized by Wind Cinema and Harmony Cultural Forum in collaboration with the Arab Network “Anhar” for Human Rights Film Festivals and Fish Eye Company, with support from Ettijahat – Independent Culture.

A Plate of Sardines (1997)

Director: Omar Amiralay

Duration: 17 minutes

Synopsis: In this short documentary, Amiralay reflects on the first time he ever heard of Israel. Through recorded conversations with director Mohammad Malas, both filmmakers share their unique stories and experiences regarding Israel and the Israeli occupation.

The Present (2020)
Director: Farah Nabulsi

Duration: 25 minutes

Synopsis: On his wedding anniversary, Yusef sets out with his young daughter in the West Bank to buy a gift for his wife. Between soldiers, apartheid, and checkpoints, how simple can a shopping trip really be?

This screening is presented by the "Aflamuna" (Musahat) platform.

🎥 عن الفيلم: يقرر جاك ريبر، جنرال قاعدة عسكرية أميركية الخروج عن طاعة القيادة العليا وإرسال عشرات الطائرات لقصف الداخل الروسي بقنابل نووية لمعاقبتهم على نشر المؤامرة الشيوعية في العالم عموماً، وفي جسده ورجولته خصوصاً. تعلَم القيادة الأميركية بإعلان الحرب وتحاول مع قيادة الاتحاد السوفياتي إبطال مفعول قرارات الجنرال ريبر وتداعياتها.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

⏱️ Running time: 95 minutes

🎥 About the film: General Jack Ripper, a commander at a US military base, decides to disobey the high command and send dozens of planes to bomb the Russian interior with nuclear bombs, to punish them for spreading the communist conspiracy in the world in general, and in his body and manhood in particular. The American command learns of the declaration of war and attempts, together with the Soviet Union’s command, to nullify the effects of General Ripper’s decisions and their repercussions.

🗣️ The screening will be followed by an open discussion with the audience on the film’s intellectual and human themes, in addition to a cinematic and technical reading of it.
