Governor Lobong, Chief Administrator Lokoli in Kuron to quell tension between Toposa and Murle communities
KURON, 5th January 2024--Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore and Chief Administrator of Greater Pibor Administrative Area Lokoli Ame Bullen are in Kuron to quash the tension between Toposa and Murle communities.
Addressing thousands of people in Kuron on Friday Lobong urged the population to denounce cattle raiding and child abduction in order for peace to prevail in the region.
Chief Administrator Lokoli appealed to the Toposa, Jie, Murle and Kachipo communities to embrace one another for services to reach their areas.
The joint visit to the area comes amidst the brewing tension among communities in the region, due to cattle raiding and child abduction.

Eastern Equatoria State gain three slots in the SPLM Political Bureau.
Juba ( 2 December 2022).... Eastern Equatoria State has gained three slots in the just expanded SPLM Political Bureau.
The SPLM National Liberation Council meeting chaired by President Kiir who doubles as SPLM Chairman made the announcement on Friday evening.
Cde. Louis Lobong Lojore, Cde. Josephine Napwon Cosmos and Tulio Odongi Ayahu are leaders representing Eastern Equatoria State at the SPLM Politburo, the party's highest decision making organ.
Dr. James Wani Igga is now the party's 1st Deputy Chairman, Daniel Awet Akot is 2nd Deputy Chairman while Kuol Manyang Juuk is the 3rd Deputy Chairman.
Tulio Odongi Ayahu is the party's Deputy Secretary General.
President Kiir in his address said SPLM has fully been reunited as per the 2015 Arusha Declaration.
Speaking to journalists, Cde Louis Lobong Lojore said he and the team would work hard to enable the party deliver on its mandate.
Lobong described Eastern Equatoria as the eye-opener for South Sudanese, saying the region had successfully ignited the course of liberation struggle when the first bullet was fired in Torit on 18 August 1955.
"We feel that we are owners of SPLM, because we shot the first bullet and successfully hosted the SPLM/A throughout the days of the liberation struggle" Lobong stated.
He said SPLM still enjoys a considerable support in Eastern Equatoria State, saying the State remains a beacon of hope for the liberation party.
