On April 17th, 2025, the Regional Coordinator of the Ministry of Agriculture conducted a supervision visit to supervise the conclusion of the Climate Smart Project implemented in the Gabiley Region. This project focused on training small-scale farmers in adaptive, best farming practices, as well as supplying climate-resilient seeds and essential tools to support their farming.
Climate change presents significant threats to agricultural productivity, particularly for the micro-farming community. In response, SCAN has implemented the Smart Food System project, funded by the WFP, aimed at equipping farmers with the necessary skills and tools to cultivate resilient farming practices that can withstand the challenges posed by climate change in some villages of Gabiley Region.

SCAN successfully conducted a Capacity Building Training on Gender and Inclusion for staff working on the Climate Smart Food System Project in the Gabiley Region of Somaliland. The training, held at the SCAN Meeting Hall in Hargeisa from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, aimed to enhance the participants' ability to incorporate gender-sensitive approaches into their work.
This initiative was part of SCAN's ongoing efforts to promote gender equality and inclusion in climate action and food security projects, ensuring that all voices are heard and considered in shaping sustainable solutions for the region.

This essential training aims to strengthen the implementation of the Climate Smart Food System Project, which is funded by the World Food Programme (WFP).

SCAN and WFP conducted a field visit to the small farmers' Climate Smart project in Agamsaha district to assess the impact of the climate change agriculture initiative. The visit included engaging with farmers and observing their activities in the demonstration farm.after that Community Interaction happen and a questions were posed to the community about their experiences and benefits from the climate-resilient agricultural practices.
