Government Secondary School Kenema (GSSK), also known as "Kay School," is an elite all-boys secondary school founded in 1952 in Kenema, Sierra Leone. Established by Chief Lalugba Kaisamba, it is the oldest school in the Eastern Province and is often referred to as the "University of the East" due to its prestige and academic history. The school is known for its distinctive green and red colors and its motto, "Aut Optimum, Aut Nihil" (Either the Best or Nothing).

Campus Refurbishment: Recently, the school is undergoing a total refurbishment to modernize its infrastructure, providing a better space for academic excellence.

Recent Improvements: Alumni associations, such as the Kenema Old Students Association (KOSA), frequently contribute to the school, including the idea to add a school garden and solar streetlights on campus.

It is with a heavy heart and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Abdul Rahman Koroma, a distinguished senior CAR teacher and Head of Examinations at the Government Secondary School, Kenema. He departed this life following a difficult illness that he bore with quiet strength and dignity.

Mr. Koroma was more than an educator; he was a father-figure, mentor, and moral compass to countless students and colleagues. His unwavering dedication to academic excellence, discipline, and integrity shaped not only the standards of examinations in the school but also the character and aspirations of generations of learners. His classroom was not merely a place of instruction, but a space of guidance and transformation.

His impact will continue to echo in the successes of the many students he nurtured and inspired.

This tragic loss has left a deep scar in the hearts of the family, school community, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We mourn not only the loss of a great teacher but also a compassionate leader and a devoted servant of education.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire excellence and integrity in all whose lives he touched.
