Someone needed a Gas station Manager. And needed me to refer a competent person to take up the job.
So that made me carry out an interview for the candidates applying for the role.
The interview commenced and there were 8 candidates.
As I was interviewing to the last person, another candidate arrived and was waiting outside.
So he also came in and I asked him why he came late.
He apologized and mentioned the road and had to trek to the location because he doesn’t have enough money on him and all of that. And I asked, what job do you do presently. He said, block molding.
I asked for his Cv and I wrote on it, Omo Baba oni bread and gave it back to him.
When he saw it, he was shocked. Apparently he knew I know him.
When I was very very young. His Dad own a Bakery and you know every evenings after the production of bread. Our house is just the next compound to theirs.
His Dad would bring all the faulty baking breads and over-done ones for us living in the compound and most times, that was what we will eat to bed.
His Dad didn’t know that time that how much giving us those breads meant to us. He was literally saving lives. Saving life of someone who was going to help his own offspring in the future.
Life is a mystery and that’s why our everyday must be lived with love and kindness.
Even though I already had in mind to give one of the earlier interviewed candidates the job, the role his Dad played in my life overrides it. It was just my opportunity of repaying him.
