’Waiting for Saturday night’ - final song on ’Got 50p for the Jukebox, Mate?’ is ’Stop It Baby’. We tried several Inmates classics written by Peter Staines, but without getting the right groove. We then tried the garageclassic ’Stop It Baby’ as we loved it on Inmates ’Shot in the Dark’. Who to sing? I had read Dave Tice of The (Count) Bishops on Facebook and thought of the gig we went to at The Roundhouse 1978. Dave does such a great job on this one and added the harp! An anecdote; Helikoptern was lined up to support The Bishops at Musikverket in Stockholm 1979, but Zenon de Fleur’s tragic death happened in March…..

Friday on my mind! We had not heard Big Joe Turner when we bought the Count Bishops EP at Rock On in Camden, late 70s. Helikoptern first played it around 85. So what to do? Friday on my mind! Track 3. It was an obvious choice to pick the iconic ’Starry eyes’. We played it as encore early 80’s. Chips Kiesbye’s wife Erica suggested Kerry Bomb to sing it! Thank you Erica as that makes the difference! Enjoy!
