Simple Nic

Well. I’ve been rubbish at posting anything recently. March started with so many good intentions and ended quietly. So here’s a custom illustration of my parents surrounded by their grandboys.

This picture is so close to my heart. My parents haven’t even met their most recent grandson yet, so to draw him on Grandpa’s lap was special 🧡

When you see the cover of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory you immediately know it’s a illustration.

When you see the Gruffalo you recognise it’s a Julia Donaldson book because of the pictures created by Axel Scheffler.

I can pick an book from across the store. His colour palette and characters are my favourite. Or with his famous wide-eyed shapes.

My list could go on (trust me, I have - as I wrote this- run through my biggest illustration heroes in my mind. Feel free to ask me who they are, I love to talk about them). Anyway.

My long winded point is this. Their style is so clear.

My absolute dream is that you would walk past the bookstore window, glimpse my book and know without a shadow of a doubt - that’s a Nicole Kankaanpää.
