Join this online interdisciplinary PhD course 📢

This course explores cutting-edge feminist posthumanities research at the intersection of gender, nature, and culture. Through lectures, workshops, and collaborative sessions, participants engage with key concepts such as transcorporeality, cyborg knowing, multispecies relationality, technologies of gender, coastalcultures, or the arts of noticing. The course may include discussions on topics as diverse as menstrual technologies, antispeciesism, AI and nature, music, seaweed, crip ecologies, and many more.

You will: Gain advanced theoretical and methodological tools
Experiment with field philosophy, arts-based methods, speculative fabulation, and other practices of feminist posthumanities. Develop your own research through advanced readings and practice-led research, work-in-progress seminars, critical friendship, and experimental formats. Bringing together feminist theory and the feminist fields of science and technology studies (STS), cultural studies, environmental humanities, and artistic practice, “Gender, Nature, Culture” fosters critical, creative, and collective knowledge-making.
Through intensive 2-day online modules, the course provides a caring and supportive environment for learning together and testing out new ideas. In preparation for these meetings, students will be asked to carry out personal readings. During the modules, they will get a chance to ask questions about the literature, discuss ideas in small groups, practice new methodologies, conduct field experiments, and present their research to the group.

Course dates: 13-14 October, 17-18 November, 19-20 January (work-in-progress seminars), 20-21 April, 18-19 May and 1-2 June (grande finale).

To apply, send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “PhD course”. Include a brief biography (max. 100 words) and a short motivation (half a page) for why you think this doctoral course would help your research. The deadline for applications is 1 September 2026. The number of participants is limited to 20 people.
