⚖️ ICC INVESTIGATING RSF FOR EL FASHER ATROCITIES

The International Criminal Court is intensifying investigations into mass atrocities committed in El Fasher during the RSF takeover in October 2025.

ICC Deputy Prosecutor Nazhat Shameem Khan told the UN Security Council on Monday:

"The fall of El Fasher to the RSF has been accompanied by an organised, calculated campaign of the most profound suffering targeting non-Arab communities, in particular r**e, arbitrary detention, executions, and mass graves all perpetrated on a massive scale."

WHAT THE ICC FOUND:

Based on video, audio, and satellite evidence, the ICC confirmed war crimes and crimes against humanity were committed in El Fasher particularly in late October.

- Video evidence shows RSF members celebrating direct executions and desecrating corpses
- Satellite images reveal mass killings and mass graves
- Evidence shows "organised, widespread mass criminality"

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

The ICC is working to establish individual criminal responsibility and is preparing arrest warrant applications.

Khan also reported "significant progress" on El Geneina investigations and confirmed the ICC is prioritizing gender-based crimes: "Sexual violence, including r**e, is being used as a tool of war in Darfur."
