Are your teachers equipped to:
– Recognize signs of anxiety and distress?
– Respond in a regulated, supportive way?
– Adjust expectations when needed?
Are there structures in place for:
– Emotional check-ins?
– Early identification of vulnerable students?
– Clear protocols for behavioral or emotional changes?
And just as importantly, how are you supporting your staff? Because teachers right now are delivering more than just lessons.
Without supporting them, we cannot expect them to support children effectively. This is also an opportunity to move toward trauma-informed practice, not as a policy, but as a mindset.
Small, intentional shifts in:
– Tone
– Response
– Expectations
– Awareness
can significantly impact how a child feels in school.
It is about responding differently. Are we continuing as usual… or are we leading with awareness? That difference matters!
