The World Maritime Day Parallel Event 2025 in Dubai gathered global maritime leaders, policymakers, and innovators for two days of dialogue under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity.” Discussions spanned across decarbonization, marine plastic litter, the blue economy, and the transition to sustainable shipping — setting the stage for solutions that address today’s most pressing maritime challenges.

H.E. Arsenio Domínguez, Secretary-General of the IMO, opened the event with a keynote speech that emphasized collective responsibility, sustainable innovation, and global collaboration to protect our oceans and secure the future of shipping.
