On this day, I explored Bule Island, home to Africa’s mysterious green lake!
A boat ride across Lake Victoria led me to this hidden gem, where algae and mould turn the water into a surreal green oasis.
The feel of its breathtaking sunsets to sacred shrines, this island holds secrets waiting to be discovered. Would you visit? Watch the full journey on my YouTube channel: ASAD EXPERIENCE

On this day, I stepped out of Kampala into Wakiso District to review one of the cheapest Airbnbs in Uganda, a 5-bedroom house packed with amenities!

Fun fact: Kampala is actually like the yolk of an egg inside Wakiso District! I had no idea until this day!

On this day, I faced my fears and stepped into history at the Buganda Palace. This place holds deep scars of Uganda’s past. It's home to Idi Amin’s infamous torture chamber. Walking through those dark walls, I could almost hear the echoes of over 7,000 souls who lost their lives in the most brutal ways. It was chilling, heartbreaking, and a painful reminder of what this country has endured. History isn’t always beautiful, but it’s necessary to remember. 🇺🇬

Fun Fact?!: Idi Amin once considered renaming Uganda to "Idi." However, he was advised against it after realizing that his citizens would be called "Idiots." a legacy his children would never forgive him for. Safe to say, that plan was quickly abandoned!

Standing here at Uganda’s Independence Monument for the first time hits different, my fam. This iconic structure, built in 1962, symbolizes Uganda’s journey to freedom after nearly 70 years of British rule. The towering figure breaking free from chains represents the birth of a new nation—strong, independent, and ready to rise.

Fun fact? This masterpiece was actually designed by a Kenyan student, Gregory Maloba, while studying at Makerere University. And here’s something even crazier, Uganda actually celebrates two Independence Days every year! October 9th marks full independence from Britain, and so is 8th.

Visiting this place reminded me how powerful history is. Every nation has a story, and this monument tells Uganda’s in the most powerful way.
