Rwanda Assistive Technology Access-RATA
27/04/2026
Last Friday, RATA in collaboration with the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) officially launched a project for promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in TVET schools through the use of assistive technology funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Rwanda.
The initiative focuses on strengthening teachers’ capacity, improving access to appropriate assistive technologies, and raising awareness on inclusive learning in TVET schools across Rwanda.
By reducing barriers, it will enable persons with disabilities to gain skills, independence, and employment opportunities.

This month, the Rwanda Assistive Technology Access (RATA) started a new cohort of its digital literacy program at Hanga Hub in Huye, targeting youth with disabilities♿, including youth with visual, physical impairments and dwarfism. Building on the success of the inaugural cohort 🎉implemented last year, the program aims to equip participants with essential digital skills to enhance their socio-economic inclusion, independence, and access to opportunities in an increasingly digital world. This initiative reflects RATA’s continued commitment to advancing inclusive development and ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital transformation ♿🤝.
