Right To Play Rwanda

Today, 19th February 2026, Right To Play Rwanda was honored to welcome our CEO and President, Ms. Jessie Thomson, for a high-level strategic visit to Rwanda.
During her visit, she held four key engagements with:
_The Minister of Education, Mr. Joseph Nsengimana
_The State Minister of Sports, Mr. Rwego Ngarambe
_The UNICEF Deputy Representative-Head of Programs, Mr. Dominic Muntanga
_Leadership of the Rwanda Education NGO Coordination Platform
The discussions focused on our strategic priorities and the way forward for Right To Play in the coming years.
Emphasis was placed on strengthening collaboration, aligning with national education priorities particularly in foundational learning (ECD and Primary) and advancing synchronized efforts to empower Rwandan children through quality, play-based learning.
We also reaffirmed our shared commitment to sport for development as a powerful tool to improve learning outcomes and create lasting impact for every child in Rwanda.

Yesterday, 10th December 2025, we held our annual RENCP General Assembly chaired by Right To play Rwanda and cochaired by Plan International. The Rwanda Education NGO Coordination Platform (RENCP) brings together education development partners to strengthen coordination, share evidence, and improve collective action in support of national education priorities.
The General Assembly also provides a space for working groups to present progress, challenges, and opportunities, ensuring alignment with the Ministry of Education ( ), the Rwanda Basic Education Board ( REB), and other government stakeholders.
As we close the year, we celebrated our collective achievements and reaffirmed our commitments and agreed on strategic priorities for the year ahead.
