In today's KPL Writing Competition awarding ceremony, we were honored to receive the State Minister of Education in Rwanda.

In her remarks, the Minister stated that:
"By writing in English, French and Kinyarwanda, students are building confidence and finding their voices. They are learning how to express their ideas and how to share Rwanda's story with the world."

This year's theme, "Money Matters," challenged students from primary to advanced level to think critically about finance and investment. Over 5,600 submissions came in from 141 schools across all 30 districts, including students with disabilities writing in braille and sign language.

Season 5 closes with 36 young writers stepping into the spotlight across three languages.

They walked in as students. They'll walk out as published authors.

The Season 5 winners are in the building. Kigali Public Library is ready. The stage is set.

“A library is where you go to find answers.”

That’s how Nancy Bright Ineza, one of this season’s finalists, opened up. Then she went further.

She talked about how competitions push you to discover what you’re truly capable of. How even small amounts of money, managed wisely, can create change in a community. And how the secret to growing as a writer isn’t winning. It’s refusing to stop.

That’s the mindset.
