Announcement from Effective Altruism Nairobi:

The EA Nairobi Summit 2026 is set for 11 April 2026 at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Nairobi Arboretum.

This will be the first time an EA Summit will be held in Nairobi. It’s going to be a fantastic gathering for those passionate about making a real difference.

We’re really hoping this summit will spark some amazing, impactful projects.

At the summit, we’ll be discussing some of the biggest issues facing our world and exploring ways to tackle them.

We’re also planning a workshop to help everyone develop new skills and a chance to connect with others who share similar interests.

This is a fantastic chance to connect with people who are really keen to find career paths that can make a real difference in Kenya, the wider region and even the world.

EA Summit: Nairobi | Effective Altruism EA Summit Nairobi 2026 will take place on 11 April 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya at Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence, Nairobi Arboretum.

What is effective altruism?

Effective altruism is a growing community based around the idea of aiming to do the most good that one can.

It involves:

1. Being open to all the possible ways to do good and pursuing the path with the biggest positive impact;

2. Using evidence to figure out how to do the most good;and

3. Choosing to make altruism a significant part of one’s life.

Announcing EAGxNigeria25: July 11-13, 2025

EAGxNigeria 2025 is taking place on July 11-13, 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Abuja, Nigeria.

EAGxNigeria25 will bring together individuals from Nigeria, Africa, and international attendees who are thinking carefully about the world’s most pressing issues, taking concrete action to solve them, or exploring ways to do so.

This conference presents an incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, exchange ideas, and discover actionable ways to make an impact. We welcome applications from both new and existing members with Effective Altruism (EA) familiarity, including those involved in aligned projects and organizations.

This event will feature talks from experts, discussion sessions, workshops, and panel sessions around various cause areas, including Global Health and Development, AI Safety, Biosecurity and Pandemic Preparedness, Animal Welfare, among others.

There will also be opportunities for one-on-one meetings and much more.

- Deepen your understanding of Effective Altruism
- Share knowledge and exchange ideas
- Connect with both the local and international EA community and aligned organisations
