I got an issue with ESP8266 NodeMCU and JavaScript/Cookie-based DDoS Protection

I got an issue with ESP8266 NodeMCU and JavaScript/Cookie-based DDoS Protection

Hello guys, Isaie here!
I’ve been working on an RFID card IoT project since mid-2024, and I’m always learning and gaining more skills in embedded systems.

Today, I decided to move my project online. Since I can’t afford a paid server, I searched for free backend hosting and found a website called InfinityFree. It felt like an "Aha!" moment for me! In the browser, it worked perfectly at this link:
http://csm.rf.gd/verfid.php?card_id=XX000

But unfortunately, I ended up disappointed by something called JavaScript-based DDoS protection and bot check.
This protection is triggered by bots on InfinityFree, and it blocks any request that isn’t coming from a browser. So when my ESP8266 tries to access it, the request gets blocked or redirected before it can finish.

You can see this for yourself if you try the link in Incognito Mode. Since the ESP8266 is not a browser, it doesn’t support JavaScript or cookies — so it gets stuck.

This made me feel like free website hosting isn’t safe at all, especially for IoT projects. It seems like they are trying to collect information or block users, even if it’s just a small project like mine.

If anyone has a solution or knows a better free backend for ESP8266 and IoT projects, please share it with me in the comments below. I’d also love to hear any suggestions — I’ll make sure to write them down and maybe try them in future updates.

Here are some screenshots showing how it looks!
