The coffee that quietly built DuHope.

In 2022, a simple coffee conversation introduced Jamie to a book called *Hope Rising* by Casey Gwinn and Dr. Chan Hellman.

What started as a recommendation from a friend led to training for our team and ideas that would help shape DuHope into what it is today. The principles of hope became woven into how we support women as they build confidence, learn new skills, and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Today, our leadership team in Rwanda is reading the book together, reflecting on its lessons and discussing how hope continues to transform lives.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing quotes, insights, and reflections from *Hope Rising* and how these ideas connect to the work happening every day at DuHope.

Because hope isn't just a feeling. It's something that can be learned, nurtured, and shared.

Meet Jennifer Ray
DuHope/Belay Global Board Chair

Jennifer is a CPA and serves as Chief Financial Officer at Oklahoma Christian University. She brings both experience and a thoughtful perspective to the board.

She first got connected to DuHope through her church and university community, when there was a need for someone with a finance background. Her university has also had a long-standing connection with Rwanda for over 20 years, which gave her a deeper understanding of the kind of work organizations like DuHope are doing.

Jennifer believes deeply in using what she’s been given to serve others, especially women working toward stability, dignity, and new opportunities.

She now serves as Board Chair and leads the Finance Committee.
