Zaryadie park is the newest park in the center of Moscow near Kremlin and Red Square. Before Zaryadie park was founded the place was occupied by Rossiya Hotel. Rossiya Hotel was demolished several years ago and Moscow government decided to create a modern park. Today in Moscow is the City Day - 870 years since the founding of the capital of Russia. It is celebrated annually on the first or second Saturday of September (always differently). On this day throughout the city there are folk festivals and concerts. The history of this holiday began 120 years ago, it was the 700th anniversary of Moscow that was celebrated for the first time, and the first Russian president, Boris Yeltsin, decided to celebrate City Day regularly in early September. The celebrations ends with a solemn evening salute.
