At first She seems unbalanced and eccentric, disrespectful and a bit stupid. She has unrealistic expectations and starts ridiculous fights over everything. She wears a mink coat around the house and walks with cigarette holder in her hand, although she doesn’t even smoke. With her insanely quick and radical mood swings, you’d think you’re in season two of Tender is The Night.

It soon becomes obvious, however, that she is daffy, charming and sensual. She is in a difficult situation (not to be confused with being difficult), and that does change her. All she wants is to be pretty, to have fun, and to love and be loved. Yes, she may have some uninformed opinions, but isn’t it his chance to mansplain? And god knows, he loooves mansplaining! While in fact, the biggest and simplest truth of the play comes from her, in a line that she doesn’t even know how powerful it is…

In this play, he is the intellect, she is the emotion. He is the rhythm, she is the groove. She is anything but dull. I’d say, she’s… just a real woman.

HE is one part of a whole, which consists of Her and Him. And, like any part of a whole, he can’t exist separately. His main tragedy is unfulfillment. He regrets his mistakes, his choice of companion and life, but does nothing about it. His dreams of becoming a poet, artist, sculptor remain just dreams, brief moments of vibrant life that he wishes to experience. He tries to break out of this vicious circle of regret and dissatisfaction, but can’t. WHY?

He believes that He’s smart and talented, and the only reason He’s not successful is because of his affair with Her. He truly loves Her but blames Her for his failures. However, He will never leave Her because He knows He’d realize that He’d be a failure just the same but of his own doing.

Jerrod Weston is an International actor. He earned his first featured character in The Misfits and has since gone on to star in Nowadays with major supporting roles in The Color of Pomegranate, Bandirma Rocket Club, Akif, and i-Mania. He is also a screenwriter who co-created the sitcom Shameless Comedy.
