Picturile lui 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐫 recuperează imaginarul mitologic pentru a investiga teme precum monstruosul, alteritatea și instabilitatea identitară. Lucrări precum 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚 și 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 construiesc figuri aflate într-o permanentă transformare, unde corpul devine un spațiu al dublului, al deformării și al ambiguității. Artistul explorează tensiunea dintre familiar și străin, dintre identitate și disoluția acesteia și propune o reflecție asupra modului în care imaginea corpului poate funcționa ca teritoriu al proiecțiilor psihologice și sociale.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐫 (n. 1997, Cluj-Napoca, România) își dezvoltă practica artistică în mai multe medii de expresie, incluzând pictura, grafica și instalația. În lucrările sale, explorează imaginea corpului uman atât din perspectivă formală, cât și expresivă și conceptuală, investigând diferite ipostaze identitare. Figura umană devine emblematică pentru reprezentarea stilului de viață al noii generații, surprinzând aspecte legate de vestimentație, aparență fizică, relații sociale și raportarea la mediu.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐫’s paintings draw from mythological imagery to investigate themes of monstrosity, otherness, and unstable identity. Works such as 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐚 and 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐬 construct figures caught in continuous transformation, where the body becomes a site of doubling, distortion, and ambiguity. The artist explores the tension between the familiar and the unfamiliar, between identity and its dissolution, proposing a reflection on the ways in which the image of the body can function as a territory of psychological and social projections.

𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐫 (b. 1997, Cluj-Napoca, Romania) works across multiple media, including painting, graphic art, and installation. His practice explores the image of the human body from formal, expressive, and conceptual perspectives, investigating different identity constructs. The human figure becomes emblematic in depicting the lifestyle of the new generation, reflecting aspects related to clothing, physical appearance, social relationships, and environmental awareness.
