▶️▶️▶️ Ieri, 10 decembrie, a avut loc lansarea celui de-al doilea număr al revistei COTAA - Collection of Texts About Architecture, ducând mai departe ambiția publicației de a genera teme de reflecție de actualitate, care pot aduce idei inovative în cadrul mai larg al cercetării în arhitectură.
📥 Evenimentul de lansare a fost însoțit de prezentări realizate de o parte dintre autorii care au contribuit la volum, precum Roberta Frumușelu-Untaru, Eduard Untaru, Ștefan Simion și Cosmin Gălățianu. În încheierea evenimentului, editorul invitat, arh. Daniel Tudor Munteanu, a realizat o retrospectivă asupra temei Dublului în propriile proiecte, trasând totodată o serie de concluzii referitoare la reușitele volumului.
🔴 Tema volumului, „The Double”, a fost propusă de arh. Daniel Tudor Munteanu și tratează subiectul Dublului, concept filozofic aflat într-un permanent interes în diferite areale culturale și domenii științifice, cu reverberații în domeniul arhitecturii prin operele mai multor arhitecți renumiți. Revista va fi disponibilă online, pe site-ul COTAA, în curând. 🔜
📘 COTAA – Collection of Texts About Architecture este un proiect editorial finanțat de Ordinul Arhitecților din România din Timbrul Arhitecturii și care funcționează sub coordonarea unui editor invitat, fiind proiectat ca o revistă dinamică, cu un potențial de a crește interesul cu privire la realizarea cercetărilor în domeniul arhitecturii, promovând cultura arhitecturală nu doar în rândul unui public specializat, ci și în cadrul domeniilor conexe arhitecturii sau studenților.

We have good news!
We’re excited to announce the launch of COTAA No. 2/2025 – The Double. Join us on Wednesday, 10.12.2025, at 17:00, at Cinema Arta in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for a special evening dedicated to our second issue.
The members of the Core Group will be there, together with our guest editor Daniel Tudor Munteanu.
Looking forward to seeing you for discussions, reflections, and the first look at The Double!

The call for papers for COTAA’s second issue 'The Double' is now officially closed. We were delighted to connect with so many of you this year, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who submitted their work.
Our team is now beginning the review process. As we are committed to carefully evaluating each submission, please note that—due to the high number of entries—the notification of acceptance has been postponed to April 18th, 2025.
We appreciate your patience during this time and your interest in contributing to COTAA.

We are delighted to welcome our guest editor for COTAA #2, Daniel Tudor Munteanu, whose vision and critical insight will shape the issue’s brief. 🎉

Some info about Daniel >>>
Daniel Tudor Munteanu is a practicing architect and curator based in Suceava, Romania.
He was educated in Romania and The Netherlands, has exhibited at the 5ᵗʰ Urbanism\Architecture Bi-city Biennale in Shenzhen, and has contributed to “+/- 1 °C: In Search of a Well-Tempered Architecture,” the Slovenian Pavilion for the 18ᵗʰ Venice Architecture Biennale.
His writings were published in magazines such as San Rocco, Log, Volume, and OASE. In 2022, he published his first book: Another Breach in the Wall.
He has lectured in academic and cultural institutions, including La Biennale di Venezia, The Berlage in Delft, The Architecture Foundation in London, Genève’s HÉAD, the University of Melbourne, the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Kassel, Ljubljana’s MAO, Prague’s VI PER, the ÉAVT in Paris, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava.
Daniel curated the “Aformal Academy/Pedagogical Infrastructure” chapter for the 6ᵗʰ Shenzhen Urbanism\Architecture Bi-city Biennale and contributed to the “State of the Art of Architecture” project for the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
Together with Davide Tomasso Ferrando, he initiated and curated the Unfolding Pavilion at the 15ᵗʰ, 16ᵗʰ, 17ᵗʰ, and 18ᵗʰ Venice Architecture Biennale and curated the Timișoara Architecture Biennial Beta 2022.
Daniel is the founder and editor of the research project OfHouses.com – a collection of old forgotten houses.

COTAA 1/2024 (new batch) has arrived in Cluj! We’re reaching out to let you know that on Monday, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, we’ll be hosting a meetup for everyone in Cluj who has ordered the volume, to hand over their copies.
If you haven't ordered the magazine but are interested in it, you are also very welcome. We have a few extra copies!
The meeting will take place at the following address: Decanatul Facultății de Arhitectură și Urbanism, Strada Ceahlău 70, Cluj-Napoca, Campus Observator.
Please note that payment can be made only in cash.
