When you cannot present an MVP to the investors
The darkest nightmare for a founder is when he/ she knows the potential of the idea as a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity and he/ she cannot even make a prototype because it's so... deep-tech demanding.
The start-up market is filled with people that have ideas. Tones of ideas. There are so many ideas on the market than at any given moment in the history of mankind (this version of mankind).
"So what?"
This is what any sane investor would say to 98% of these ideas. What almost everybody wants to see before taking you seriously is:
-- Do you have a Minimum Viable Product?
-- Do you have a market validation?
even more...
-- Do you have Go-to-market strategy?
and finally...
-- Do you have sales?
Leaving aside digital fitness apps, crypto tokens, and fintech platforms, there are a lot of contexts in which the founder is not able to present not even a prototype.
I'm working now on a deep-tech consumer device that takes 2 years to develop a prototype. Well, good luck to us in finding the right investors.
Yes, it helps that it will also have sales of $23 million in its first years. That is arrogant, isn't it? Yes, it is.
Sometimes a good idea is just a good idea, and it takes a huge amount of premonition for a founder to invest in such an early stage.

Te-a prins febra Tik-Tok-ului?
