Each year I draw him a little illustration for his birthday. This year I captured him in a sketch, while he was working on his Warhammer figurine. Painting away, completely involved in it.

Swipe to see the little graphite powder container I put together. I usually gather the dust left after sharpening big leads (2 mm, 3.2 mm 5.6 mm) and I use it for backgrounds or to fill big empty spaces of landscapes, seascapes or skies. For this, I use a puffy brush.

Hello, friends! There's a little celebration of Leonardo Da Vinci over at and here's my little interpretation of Lady with an Ermine, a painting Da Vinci made cca 1489-1491 of a lady called Cecilia Gallerani. 

I have a very well established process in my creation, which implies mostly graphite and rich in dark carbon pencils, but lately I've been including washes and details of water soluble graphite and I really love to work with this new medium in my work. I got a set of two White Casaneo Brushes that are amazing for this, they are smooth and silky with the graphite and put down perfect washes of it. The background was built with this technique and brushes, as well as the overwash and building up of major shadows.

I loved working on this so much I might just start a little series in my style!
