Who Decides What AI Tells You? The New Battle Over Trust, Bias, And Accuracy - ControlF5 Software 03/06/2026

As artificial intelligence becomes the interface through which millions of people search for answers, a new question is starting to matter far more than model size or benchmark scores: who decides what information AI systems present as true?

That question sits at the center of a growing debate inside the AI industry, and former Meta news executive Campbell Brown believes the stakes are much higher than most companies admit. After years spent working in journalism and later leading Facebook’s news initiatives, Brown now argues that AI systems are rapidly becoming the primary gateway to information, while still struggling with accuracy, nuance, and context on sensitive subjects.

Software longevity is an engineering skill. AI accelerates development. Discipline sustains systems.

A lot of software conversations still focus almost entirely on speed.

How quickly can we ship? How fast can we build? How much can AI accelerate development?

Those questions matter. But in serious software environments, the bigger challenge usually appears later.

When the platform starts supporting more workflows, more teams, more integrations, more operational pressure, more business dependency.

That is where architecture quality becomes visible.

The systems that survive long term are rarely the ones optimized only for velocity. They are the ones designed for maintainability, operational clarity, controlled evolution, and reliability under pressure.

Especially when the software sits inside critical business operations.

Artificial Intelligence will lead to accelerated commoditization of software development services over the next two years, forcing IT companies to rethink their business, says Ștefan Iorgulescu, founder and CEO of custom software developer Control F5. In this context, Control F5 Software will shift toward larger projects, ideally enterprise-level, over which it will have a greater degree of control.

"AI has accelerated code production, but it hasn't made complex systems easier to change. Over the next 12-24 months, simple technical ex*****on will become rapidly commoditized. In this context of massive AI influence, a software company's value will lie much more in the clarity it provides to the client and much less in the code itself. IT companies must migrate toward offering healthy architecture, system integration, risk control, quality assurance, continuity, and long-term production ownership. The way we operate will change fundamentally: we will target large projects, ideally enterprise, we will shift toward a large proportion of consulting, and toward taking over an entire project's technical ecosystem. Thus, we want ownership of the projects we work on, and more and more clients are open to this model”, declared Stefan Iorgulescu, founder and CEO of Control F5 Software.
