IOM Romania recently facilitated a targeted cultural and civic orientation session for third-country nationals working in the delivery sector. The session directly addressed their day-to-day workplace realities, while also outlining IOM's specific role, programs, and boundaries in providing assistance.
The session covered the essential rights, obligations, and legal status of foreign workers, including:

📝 Employment Contracts: Clarifying individual work contracts, including how to terminate a contract or change employers safely.
🗺️ Legal Pathways: Navigating long-term residency pathways and Schengen transit regulations.
💰 Finances & Social Systems: Understanding the taxation system, salary structuring, and accessing social security and the healthcare system.
🏛️ Institutional Access: Navigating state institutions regarding employment and unemployment dynamics.
⚖️ Legal Framework: Addressing key aspects of the upcoming Emergency Ordinance (OUG) 32/2026.

Given the mobile nature of their work, the Road Traffic Police Department delivered a vital intervention on road safety, walking courier drivers through practical, real-world traffic scenarios to ensure their safety on the road.
