Aceste perturbări afectează capacitatea persoanei de a menține un sentiment coerent și stabil al identității și al relației cu celălalt.

Persoanele cu structură borderline pot trăi relațiile apropiate ca fiind simultan esențiale și amenințătoare. Nevoia intensă de apropiere se împletește cu teama de abandon, pierdere sau dizolvare a sinelui, ceea ce conduce la oscilații relaționale, afect intens și dificultăți în reglarea emoțională. Aceste manifestări nu reprezintă simple „simptome”, ci expresii ale unei 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗭𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗔̆𝗧̦𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗧̦𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘, organizate în jurul anxietății de separare.

În cabinet, aceste dinamici se reactivează constant în relația terapeutică, sub forma transferului și a reacțiilor contratransferențiale intense. Din acest motiv, lucrul psihoterapeutic cu pacienți borderline presupune mai mult decât aplicarea unor tehnici: presupune o 𝗜̂𝗡𝗧̦𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗔̆ 𝗔 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗜, a relației și a modului în care separarea este trăită psihic.

Această formare se bazează pe eforturile de pionierat ale doi psihiatri cu experiență în domeniul tulburărilor sinelui (tulburări ale personalității), 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 și 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗵 𝗞𝗹𝗲𝗶𝗻, ale căror contribuții au influențat dezvoltarea abordărilor relaționale contemporane, inclusiv 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁̦𝗲𝗶, elaborată ulterior de doi dintre absolvenții lor, Kent Hoffman și Bert Powell.

First day of the conference! The unthought known, seen through different lens. So many people united in a shared goal: to understand internal working models of relationships.

Dear Colleagues,
We want to update you with more information about our upcoming conference: “Another Chance to be Real”. The conference will be held on October 4-6, 2024 in Bucharest, Romania and you can attend in person or online. We are pleased to let you know that accreditation is now available for Romanian clinicians.
We believe that this will be a historic conference and one that will probably never be repeated.
It is historic because it represents a reunion between two pioneering bodies of work, both of which were influenced by Masterson and Klein. It is historic because through this reunion, we hope to share what we believe is an invaluable insight into the development of personality disorder. Masterson’s great contribution to the field was the uncovering of abandonment depression, and the Circle of Security protocol has been a brilliant intervention which hones in on how procedural memory is shaped through insecure attachment. We are finally in a position to bring together clinicians who have been working at the cutting edge of these concepts to talk to each other and to share with you what we have learned.
We want this conference to demonstrate these links through clinical practice. So we have planned to structure the conference as a three day workshop which will focus on diagnostic dilemmas, treatment planning and forms of therapeutic intervention, as well as focussing on the specific difficulties specialists encounter working with patients who suffer from borderline, narcissistic or schizoid personality disorders. These three days will systematically take participants through a process which will enable them to (1) understand the difference between the patients presenting false self and the underlying/emergent real self (2) distinguish patterns of defense which block the patients real self (3) make interventions to interrupt defenses so that the patient can free his or her real self to face and work through an underlying abandonment depression – the driver of the defensive system.
Our Conference is run by clinicians who personally trained with the late Professor Masterson and Klein and who have individually over forty years of experience in this approach.
