European Youth Week has started, and we are in Brussels.
Around 1,000 young people are here, bringing their questions, ideas, and energy into the same space.

For us at Station Europe, this is what participation looks like in practice. People showing up, listening, disagreeing, building on each other, and trying to make sense of what comes next.

Library in the Park 💚

We know how much we need to be together. To pause for a moment. To read a few pages. To say something. To listen. To play. To simply be.

Today is Station Europe’s day. We turn 6.
Coincidence or not, today is also Librarian Day. Coincidence or not, today we are in Brussels, in the place where everything started for us. Coincidence or not, today we remembered an idea we discussed together with the librarians from the fellowship.

So we are launching Library in the Park.

What is Library in the Park
Library in the Park is a community intervention through which we bring people together and an invitation to connect with nature through reading, conversation, and play.

What we offer
For the first edition, Station Europe will select two partner libraries in Romania. Each library will receive two picnic kits, designed to support a series of outdoor activities. Each kit includes a large blanket, a mobile book stand, cushions, umbrellas, a selection of books, and a set of board games. In addition, the libraries will receive a voucher for snacks, so that each meeting feels welcoming for participants.

If you work in a library and want to bring this to your community, we invite you to apply.
The form is here: https://forms.gle/DGFBauFeuB33H9SMA or in bio.

Deadline: May 14, 2026

We reached 11 communities across the country with our board game, 0 KG.

We facilitated 49 game sessions with over 600 young people, in schools, libraries, and community spaces.

We started with a simple question, what do we actually do with our food?
From there, conversations opened up about habits, daily choices, and things we usually overlook.

0 KG is an educational and conversational board game about choices and food waste. The game simulates one year in the life of a family or a group of friends, in 12 rounds. Each round brings decisions that naturally lead to discussions about how we buy, consume, and what ends up being thrown away.

We will continue in new communities.

What a beautiful experience the first edition of the Librarians Fellowship has been. 💙

Together with the four librarians selected from the 148 applications we received, we travelled to Vienna for a study visit at the Austrian National Library. We spent time in the State Hall, one of the most impressive historic library halls in the world, and had the chance to better understand how an institution that has preserved and shared knowledge for centuries works today.

We visited Albertina and Albertina Modern. At the exhibition Monet to Picasso we saw works by Picasso and Monet, of course, but also by Signac, Renoir, Modigliani, Klimt, Munch, Matisse, Cézanne and many others.

At the exhibition Fascination Paper – Rembrandt to Kiefer, the work by Anselm Kiefer, The Starry Sky Above Me and the Moral Law Within Me (1997), made us pause for a few minutes and simply look in silence.

We also visited the exhibitions Honoré Daumier – Mirror of Society and Dance Images, each offering another perspective on how art reflects the world we live in.

We visited St. Stephen’s Cathedral and Belvedere Palace, and between these places we had time for conversations about libraries, communities, and ideas that can take shape once we return home.

This visit brought us together around the same question: how can the library remain a meaningful place for the communities it serves?

The Librarians Fellowship is our way of supporting this question.

Through The Librarians Fellowship, we aim to support the professional growth of librarians, give them the recognition they deserve, and strengthen the role of libraries in the educational and democratic life of their communities.
Thank you! 💙
