🌍 The second panel, “30 years after Dayton - the Fragile Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the impact on regional security” reflects on the possible security implications on the region in a scenario where the Dayton system remains unreformed.

🗺 The Conference continues with the Plenary Session 2 “European Security between Awakening and Adjustment: Power, Partnerships, and Purpose”.
🔍Some of the questions the session will focus on:

•⁠ How is Europe’s security architecture evolving in light of the war in Ukraine?
•⁠What balance should be struck between European strategic autonomy and transatlantic solidarity?
•⁠How can Europe translate its awakening into sustained strength and resilience?

🌍 The last panel of the Bucharest Security Conference, Panel 6 “Hybrid Threats and the Resilience of the Liberal Order - Lessons from Disinformation and Polarization
in 2024 & 2025”, will take place on 29 November 2025.

🗺The liberal international order is being tested not only by conventional security challenges, but also by hybrid threats that erode trust, polarize societies, and weaken democratic institutions from within. The electoral cycles of 2024 and 2025 have demonstrated how disinformation campaigns, algorithmic manipulation, and political polarization can destabilize democracies.

🏛These trends raise urgent questions about the ability of states, alliances, and societies to protect open systems while preserving democratic freedoms. This panel will gather analysts and practitioners to reflect on the lessons learned from recent electoral disruptions, assess how hybrid tactics are reshaping the global contest between authoritarian and democratic models, and identify what resilience measures are most effective in safeguarding the liberal order against sustained hybrid pressure.
